Karma and Studying

I am waiting up to see if my stupid pipe under my sink is going to hold out until morning. I need to get these dishes done and decided to go ahead and run it rather than wait until the morning. Regardless I will call the plumber in the morning when I finally do get up.

I have spent the entire day locked up studying. Man, I think I sprained a butt muscle. :) It's been a long day. The turn in time was midnight. This instructor is not very clear on the homework assignment so I read the two (very long and boring) chapters like 4 times and tried to clean one central idea from it. Nothing. So I read her course highlights, and tried again. Nothing. So I read the chapters in highlight trying to give myself some glorious insight. Nothing. So I read the syllabus and scanned for hints. NOTHING. So I thought OK, slam your head on the desk, you'll see something...NOTHING. DAMN! (Starting to see how I sprained my butt muscle?) So I think OK, start writing and write it all out, you'll at least have something to transfer at midnight. (She counts off 2 points per 5 minutes late on turn in and I am a 4.0 student, screw that!)

So I start typing and I immediately hit on 5 new ideas. However, none of which can be summed up in one page and that is the restriction of the assignment. This woman reminds us constantly that this is college and this class is worth 4 credits, she reminds us of this for 7 or the 9 pages of the syllabus, yet marginally explains the homework. The two chapters covered a huge span.

So before it's over, I got my single typed page in MLA format turned in 8 minutes until the deadline. And in my class work folder there is another file with 10 pages typed of tons of ideas, cleverly worded and looking for a home in my final paper, which is coming up in about 4 weeks. I like these advanced courses, but man they kick my ass on time.

I am taking a trip to Houston this week to go see the Lion King, the Galleria, the Kemawah Boardwalk and the Johnson Space center. We have two five hour drives. I will read the next 4 chapters and start my general ideas on those so that I will not be doing the 11:52 PM thing again. This was too much.

Anyway, looking forward to seeing the play. I know McK is going to love it. He will go crazy to see it all. I got a hell of a deal on this. I booked late so I ended up with balcony seats and I figured McK would love them since they were so high. Anyway, there was a lot of confusion in the booking and my friend backed out. The booking agent said we had to pay for the tickets so I offered to cover hers. The booking agent called back to tell them to sell those seats if they could--otherwise I'd cover them. Well, when she called back, she found they'd sold my seats too--in a completely unrelated thing. So I ended up with two front row tickets!!!! For the cost of balcony seats. OH YEAH BABY!!!! And!! I did not have to cover the other girls tickets! Yeah! Karma--It pays off!

OK, I gotta hit the hay. Screw the pipes, they will be wet in the morning too. I have a butt muscle to tend to.
